Welcome to the Debate area of the Voices for Burma website. This area gives you the chance to share your views on tourism to Burma and to learn from the opinions of other travellers, academics, experts and campaigners.

While Voices for Burma has a distinctive policy on tourism to Burma, we welcome other views on this complex and often controversial issue. We want to act as a catalyst for the debate on tourism in Burma and hope to take the debate forward, beyond the black-and-white ‘go’/‘don’t go’ voices which tend to dominate this area. Our views on tourism can provide an input into this debate, but we need your opinions and experiences to create a wide-ranging and unique discussion.

You can contribute to this section in a number of ways:
• Write an article for the website outlining your views on tourism to Burma and exploring the arguments for and against travel to Burma. Whatever your conclusion (even if you find that you cannot arrive at a conclusion!) we will welcome your contribution. Please send articles to voicesforburma@hotmail.com.
• Send us an email giving your response to our work and your opinion on travel to Burma – these will be posted on our Discussion Board for all to read and respond. If you would like your email to be published, please let us know when contacting us.
